Flip 4 competitor with 144Hz screen

A new smartphone has been announced by Motorola. It is the 2022 edition of the Motorola Razr. The foldable smartphone should be a competitor for, for example, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 from Samsung, which was announced last week.

Foldable smartphones are not yet embraced equally by every brand. Motorola, Samsung and Xiaomi are the main players with one or more folding models. A well-known example is the Motorola Razr. During a press conference in China, the brand announced the Motorola Razr 2022. Where the previous model was more of a mid-end device, given the specifications, Motorola now takes a different approach and provides the device with high-end specifications. So competition for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, announced this week, which has a similar design.

Just like its competitor, you open the Motorola Razr 2022 like a clamshell device. When opened, a 144Hz P-OLED screen appears with a size of 6.7 inches and a Full-HD+ resolution. Motorola has placed a 2.7 inch screen on the outside, on which it should even be possible to play some games. Under the hood of the Razr 2022 is the fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. There is a 50 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, paired with a 13 megapixel wide-angle lens. The front camera offers 32 megapixels.

Of course, the Motorola Razr 2022 comes with Android 12, along with the Motorola MyUX skin. Updates have not been discussed further, so when Android 13 will come for the device is now unclear. There is a 3500 mAh battery on board, which supports 33W fast charging.

For now, the Motorola Razr 2022 has only been announced for the Chinese market. The device will be available there from August 15. It is unknown whether the smartphone will also be released in other countries. If more is known about this, we will of course keep you informed.
