First iOS 16 photos leaked? iPhone gets interactive widgets

Also this year there will be a major iOS update, which will give the iPhone new functions. This time it concerns iOS 16 and due to a leak, the first major innovation seems to be known.

Read on after the ad.

iOS 16 photos leaked

It was the biggest feature of iOS 14: widgets. They show information from apps and you place them between the app icons of the home screen. This way you can immediately see the weather forecast for the coming week, without having to open the Weather app. Or you can make a phone call to your favorite contact with one tap on the widget.

It seems that from iOS 16 there is much more possible with those widgets. Rumor spreader LeaksApplePro shared photos of an alleged iPhone with iOS 16. It shows that Apple is working on an extra large widget, which contains other widgets. At Apple this is referred to internally as the ‘InfoShack’.

Interactive Widgets in iOS 16

Best of all, some widgets are interactive. Now they only show information, but with iOS 16 you could perform an action from a widget. For example, use the Music widget to play, pause, or skip to the next song.

According to LeaksApplePro, there will also be a Clock widget, which you can use to quickly start or pause a timer. An interactive Messages widget is also in the works, but it is not yet clear what it will do.

In the ‘Infoschacks’, as Apple now calls the large widgets, you collect several widgets. Not only that, the leaked images also show elements of the Control Center. For example, you can add a controller to adjust the brightness or adjust the volume.

Trustworthy rumor?

The interactive widgets would be a great addition. But it’s important to mention that LeaksApplePro doesn’t have an impressive track record yet. So we’re keeping a close eye on it. Especially because the Apple TV Remote controller doesn’t look like Apple’s in the picture and the old Weather icon has been used in the widget.
