A Bundeswehr general warns of attacks on critical infrastructure in Germany and gives citizens an important tip on what they should have at home, especially now. The SPD warns against scaremongering.
Bundeswehr general warns of hybrid threats
Bundeswehr General Carsten Breuer has warned of attacks on critical infrastructure in Germany. He assumes that the critical infrastructure in Germany could become a target. “Every substation, every power plant, every pipeline” can be attacked and be a possible target, the commander of the new territorial command of the Bundeswehr told the “Bild am Sonntag” (via daily mirror). The transport policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group, Dorothee Martin, contradicts the analysis. Although the situation is serious with regard to the attack on Deutsche Bahn, which has not yet been clarified, she warns against scaremongering.
Breuer advises citizens in Germany to prepare. Specifically, the Bundeswehr General recommends that people in Germany should stock up on flashlights and enough batteries. Regardless of the recommendation of the Bundeswehr General the recommendation still applies that you should always have certain supplies in the house, to be able to survive for several days in the event of a disaster such as a blackout or flood. Basically, there is nothing wrong with building up a small supply of water and buying some food that has a long shelf life. If nothing happens, you can use them up and if something does happen, then you are not unprepared.
