Evans Hankey, who took over design from Jony Ive, will leave Apple

Apple announces the upcoming departure of Evans Hankey, who succeeded Jony Ive in 2019 as the company’s chief design officer. She will leave the company in 2023 and there is currently no information on the name of her successor.

“Apple’s design team brings together expert creatives from around the world and many disciplines to imagine products that are unmistakably Apple”a spokesperson told Bloomberg. “The design team has strong leaders with decades of experience. Evans plans to stay on during the transition and we would like to thank her for her leadership and contributions.” She will stay with Apple for another six months.

For his part, Alan Dye – who was also promoted in 2019 after the departure of Jony Ive – remains at Apple. He wants to be the main designer for all the software part, where Evans Hankey mainly deals with the design of different products, such as the iPhone, Mac or iPad.
