Does Nokia make users pay for additional updates?

If the newly-arrived rumors are true, then Nokia may be planning to charge users who want updates for longer. This option would be the first to be worked on for the Nokia X10 and the X20.

Pay for updates?

Nokia is known as a manufacturer with a good update policy. Especially with the new X series, where users get Android updates and security updates for three years. However, there are exceptions, with Nokia, for example, providing security updates for the Nokia XR20, the company’s rugged phone, for four years. This does not apply to the Nokia X10 and X20.

In the near future, you may be able to purchase an additional period of updates. Nokia would like to offer this option first for the Nokia X10 and the Nokia X20. A fourth year of updates could be purchased for an amount of 24.94 euros. The vouchers for this have appeared at some European retailers.
