Delete apps on Apple Watch
Like your iPhone, the Apple Watch only has a limited amount of storage. With a recent Apple Watch, such as the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch Series 7, you get 32 GB of storage. That’s quite a lot, but even then apps quickly take up a lot of space.
That is why it is important to clean up every now and then. In that case, follow the steps below to uninstall apps on your Apple Watch.
Delete apps on Apple Watch
- Press the digital crown (Digital Crown), which is the round button on the side of your Apple Watch;
- In the app overview, press and hold your finger on any app;
- Wait for a new window to appear, scroll down and choose ‘Edit apps’;
- The apps start to vibrate, tap the cross next to the app you want to remove and choose ‘Delete app’.
If you do not recognize an app icon, it is easier to delete the apps in the list view. This is how you do that.
- Hold your finger on an app for a moment and wait for the menu to appear;
- Choose the option ‘List view’ in the menu;
- Scroll through the list of apps until you find the app you want to remove;
- Swipe left on the name of the app and tap the trash can.
It is also not possible to remove every app. Can’t see a cross or no trash can? Then the app cannot be thrown away.
Remove Apple Watch with iPhone
Of course it is also possible to delete the apps from your Apple Watch via your iPhone. You do that in the following way.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone;
- Tap ‘My Watch’ at the bottom;
- Scroll down until you see “Installed on Apple Watch”;
- Tap the app you want to remove and turn off the slider at ‘Show app on Apple Watch’.
