completely new design for interface

Google is busy behind the scenes developing Android 12. The new Android version seems to get a completely new interface design, according to screenshots of Android 12.

Screenshots have been brought out from the latest version of Android. On the Android 12 screenshots you can see that Google wants to change the design of the interface. Unlike Android 11, where the design largely corresponded to the previous version, the company wants to take a different path with Android 12.

The photos would come from documentation provided by Google itself, which would have been distributed to partners to prepare for the new Android version. We have to be careful, the authenticity cannot yet be confirmed. Several internationally known sources assume that the photos we see now are real.

Design and widgets

If we look at the photos of the Android version, the influence of Samsung’s One UI and Apple’s iOS is striking. Google seems to want to provide Android 12 with more round shapes in the interface. The home screen has space for various widgets that use the system apps. Think of a widget with missed calls, messages and chats. Since we also see a Facebook Messenger icon here, it appears that Google is opening up the API to third-party apps. We also saw this with the notification bubbles of Android 11.

Furthermore, a lot has changed on the screen with notifications. There is much more space here and it is all less crowded. As with Android 11, the conversations are split from the rest of the notifications. The number of quick settings icons has been reduced to four in the top row. Personally, I think that is a setback.

Theme and privacy

Then the colors; thanks to an earlier message, it became clear that Android 12 will receive support for a theme system. That can also confirm why we see a largely beige interface here. In the top right of the screen you can also see which privacy accesses are currently being used. By tapping here you will get more information about this. You can already see in Android 11 next to the front camera, for example, a green dot when the camera is used, for example for face unlocking.

We expect a lot more information about Android 12 in the coming weeks and months. What do you think of the new images?
