compact king stays on his throne

ASUS has just officially announced the Zenfone 10. The smartphone is still as compact as its predecessors and comes with a number of powerful specifications. What does the device have to offer?

ASUS Zenfone 10

The Zenfone 10 is the new flagship from ASUS and falls into the category of powerful high-end smartphones. It was previously rumored that ASUS had decided to give the Zenfone 10 a 6.3-inch screen, which would make the device a lot less compact. However, ASUS later showed in a video that it is again a 5.9-inch screen. This is now confirmed during the official launch and with this ASUS is and remains the standard bearer when it comes to making compact high-end smartphones.

With this, the Zenfone 10 can be easily operated with one hand and the device fits well in the pocket. Not much has changed in terms of build quality. The smartphone has a plastic back, an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front.

Fast hardware and finally fast charging

The ASUS Zenfone 10 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This is the fastest processor you can currently find in an Android smartphone. The processor is supported by 8 or 16 GB of RAM.

In addition to the fact that the Zenfone 10 is slightly more powerful compared to its predecessor, the battery performance should also be improved. This should mainly be due to the more energy-efficient chipset. The battery itself has not become larger and still has a capacity of 4300 mAh. Still, according to ASUS, the battery life has been extended by 13 percent. You can further charge the phone with a power of 30W. Earlier rumors spoke of a 5000 mAh battery that could be charged with 67W.

Finally better update policy

Finally, we take a look at the back of the smartphone. Here we see two cameras again, it is a 50 MP main camera and a 13 MP wide-angle lens. The main camera uses the same Sony IMX766 sensor. So no progress in the hardware field, but because ASUS is getting to know this sensor better and better, it can improve the optimization and software well. When we have received the device, we look at how well the camera actually performs. In the review of the Zenfone 9, Sebastien was certainly pleased with the camera performance. He was especially positively surprised about the gimbal stabilization, which can also be found in the Zenfone 10.

Finally, ASUS has finally adjusted the update policy and this was necessary. The Zenfone 9 only got two Android upgrades and two years of security updates. The upgrades have remained the same for the Zenfone 10, but the device will receive security updates for four years. ASUS is still lagging behind with this, but you can use the phone safely for at least four years.
