Will there be AirPods Pro mini in 2020? Apple officially presented the Pro version of its in-ear headphones in autumn 2019. Around two years later there could now be a successor – in a different size.
The rumors about the possible AirPods Pro mini come from the Twitter account Mr. White. Accordingly, the successors to the AirPods Pro could appear in two sizes. Both should contain the W2 chip. There is also a photo on the Twitter channel that allegedly shows two possible components in different sizes. You can find the said tweet a little further down in this article.
Is Apple oriented towards Samsung and Co.?
The second generation of AirPods Pro could have a more compact design, reports MacRumors, among others. Apparently, Apple is working on removing the small stem sticking out of the bottom of the in-ear headphones. Overall, the headphones could get a rounder design – and thus become more similar to the competition from Google and Samsung.
But it is also possible that Apple has problems eliminating the stem. That is why the photo of Mr. White could show Apple headphones in two different sizes. Accordingly, there would be no AirPods Pro mini, but in-ears the size of the first generation.
AirPods Pro Lite and AirPods Pro 2
Rumors about the successors to the AirPods Pro have been around for a long time. At the beginning of 2020, for example, it was said that Apple should work on a slimmed-down version of the headphones. These “AirPods Pro Lite” should not only offer a limited range of functions, but also be significantly cheaper than the original. It remains to be seen whether the possible “AirPods Pro Lite” and the “AirPods Pro mini” are possibly the same model.
Most recently, however, it was said that we will probably have to wait a little longer: the “AirPods Pro 2” could not come onto the market until the fourth quarter of 2021 at the earliest. More likely, however, is even a release date in early 2022. There are also rumors about the price: At $ 249, it would be just as high as for the first generation.
Recently, Apple has caused quite a stir with its expensive headphones. However, the AirPods Max are also over-ears, with which the company is targeting the luxury segment. Starting price: just under 600 euros.
