Apple: iPhone 11 to receive trio camera system
The Wall Street Journal, which relies on internal sources at Apple, reports plans by the US smartphone company that the new top model will incorporate a triple camera on the back. The successor of the iPhone Xr with LCD is to receive a two-camera system. The iPhone Xr has only one camera on the back.
Possibly even the larger version of the iPhone 11 will get a triple camera system and the smaller 5.8-inch model will continue to be offered with a dual system, the Wall says Street Journal. This would allow a clearer differentiation between the two models. Currently, the iPhone Xs and the iPhone Xs Max are separated from each other by the larger screen and larger battery.
Apple’s competition is far ahead of the camera count. For example, Samsung introduced the Galaxy A9 with four cameras on the back last year. Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro, also launched in 2018, have three back cameras.
The Wall Street Journal further reports that Apple will not give up LCD technology until 2020 and then only offer OLEDs.
