It is living month on iPhone. The entire month of May is all about (smart) living. If you want to make her or his house smart, you have to make an important decision right from the start. Are we going for Apple HomeKit, or are we going for Google Home?
That is why it is time for a comparison. In the video above, we explain briefly but effectively what you can do with both systems. We mainly focus on the differences so that you know which smart home system best suits your needs.
In summary, Apple HomeKit is the best option for true Apple families. Is there no Android device in your house and do you swear by Apple? Then HomeKit is the logical choice, although you are somewhat limited in putting together your smart home. Not all smart TVs, doorbells and lamps can work with Apple’s system.
When to choose Google Home
Families using both Android and Apple may benefit more from Google Home. You can download the Home app, which is required for setting up and operating smart home equipment, on both Android and iOS, for example. This is not the case with Apple HomeKit: the necessary Home app is not available on Android.
You also have a lot more choice with Google Home. Google’s smart home platform is supported by more than 30,000 devices, while HomeKit hovers around 1,000.
