Apka George already has notifications on Huawei smartphones

Since the collapse of Huawei-Google, smartphone users of the Chinese giant have had trouble receiving notifications. Application developers must also independently optimize their software for sending notifications via HMS servers. One of several applications that had a similar problem was the application of Slovenská sporiteľňa called George. After a long time, this problem was solved and Huawei commented on the resumption of notifications:

“Slovenská sporiteľňa released the long-awaited but planned update of the George mobile banking application on Monday evening. Many improvements have been made, the most visible of which is undoubtedly the delivery of functional push notifications to devices whose users receive content from the HUAWEI AppGallery store. This is a confirmation of the importance of the HUAWEI Mobile Services platform and the relevant ecosystem in general. We believe that in the near future, other banks operating in Slovakia will complete the full integration of our services, and George will thus gain a challenge to the next year’s AppGallery Code survey, in which he only recently won. ”

After being notified by our reader, we also wrote to Slovenská sporiteľňa regarding notifications. The spokesperson replied to our e-mail on behalf of the bank as follows:

As a digital leader, we can confirm that the current version of the George application (21.34) already supports push notifications for Huawei devices without Google services. The owners of these phones will get a full experience with our mobile application.
