CyberNews reports that after analyzing the configuration of a thousand of the most popular Android apps, 14 of them have leaked sensitive data about their users. These applications have accumulated a total of 142.5 million downloads from the Google Play Store. Cybernews did not share the name of any applications that were affected by privacy issues related to the misconfiguration of Firebase. Android users are not the only ones affected by these privacy concerns, since some iOS applications at Apple could also be impacted.

Electric bike makers gang up on hacking

In several European countries, including France and Belgium, electric bicycles must not exceed a nominal power of 250 W, i.e. a speed of 25 km / h. Faced with these restrictions, more and more users are finding devious ways to hack the software of their electric bicycle in order to obtain more power, and therefore go faster. Under the aegis of the European Cycling Confederation (CONEBY), 15 national associations of the bicycle industry in Europe and 68 companies in the sector have signed a pledge to prevent owners from hacking their electric bikes. The players in the sector specify in particular that cyclists may lose the warranty in the event of an accident with their tampered with their electric bicycle.

Amazon invaded by scalpers

While eBay bids don’t go as high as they used to be, scalpers seem to have decided to migrate to Amazon. Indeed, it is now possible to find Xbox Series X at 1000 € on the e-commerce site. Microsoft consoles are therefore sold for twice as much as their original price, and some are found to be defective. In the comments, a user explains that he did not resist any longer before buying an Xbox Series X. After paying nearly $ 900 to an individual, the console received was defective. He had to send it back to Microsoft who was able to repair it at no additional cost thanks to the warranty. This is not an isolated case, so beware of Amazon Warehouse scams!
