Android 12 contains hidden settings for games

Android 12, a new version of the mobile operating system, is already undergoing testing and owners of selected smartphones can try it out.

The system will be full of interesting news. Some of them were officially presented by Google, others we learn about thanks to public testing. Recently, in this way, we also learn about the new game mode, which is hidden in the system settings. The PhoneArena portal pointed out the news.

A user nicknamed Kilarasx noticed in the Digital Balance section that surprisingly, there are also advanced settings for mobile games. The tool is primarily used to monitor how much time the user spends in individual applications, so the presence of settings for games is relatively unexpected.

Hidden in settings for now

At the same time, they should be hidden in the advanced settings for managing the Digital Balance function, where the Game Mode option has appeared. Specifically, it should include a performance optimization mode, turn on the FPS display, as well as a screen recording tool with the ability to stream directly via YouTube Live.

According to user feedback, these settings are not displayed to everyone, so it is likely that the section in the final version will not be part of Digital Balance. It seems much more logical for the game settings to be given a separate section in the system settings.

It has been speculated long ago

New options for games have not yet been commented on by Google, but their presence is also confirmed by the published images. Some of the discovered functions are not yet fully functional at the moment, which theoretically may be the reason why they are hidden in the settings. There is still some time left until the formal release of Android 12, so the developers have enough room for possible adjustments and improvements.

Similar features for mobile games used by manufacturers to implement on their own, with the advent of Android 12 should be available as a complete standard. Information that Google is going to do something similar began as early as the beginning of the year. Currently, however, it has been confirmed that these are not just unsubstantiated conjectures.
