Apple would have accelerated with regard to the tests of the future Mac Pro. The computer would be entitled to the M2 Ultra chip and the M2 “Extreme” chip. It is for the moment an unofficial name knowing that a similar chip does not exist today, where the M1 Ultra is available. The highest-end model is said to be up to four times more powerful than a Mac with the M2 Max chip.

Users would be entitled to a processor (CPU) with 24 or 48 cores and a graphics chip (GPU) with 76 or 152 cores depending on the configuration. It will also be possible to have up to 256 GB of RAM. One of the models currently being tested by Apple has a CPU with 24 cores (16 performing cores, 8 efficient), 76 graphics cores and 192 GB of RAM. The machine runs under macOS Ventura 13.3. As a reminder, tomorrow Apple will release the final version of macOS Ventura 13.0.

On the other hand, Gurman evokes the new MacBook Pro of 14 and 16 inches which will ship the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. The latter would have a 12-core CPU (8 high-performance, 4 efficient cores), 38 graphics cores and up to 64 GB of RAM. These laptops should arrive within the next few months.

Finally, a new Mac mini with the M2 chip is also in the works. It will have the same chip found in the latest MacBook Air and the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro. Again, availability will be within a few months. Note that a Mac mini with the M2 Pro chip is also tested, but it is not specified whether Apple intends to release this model for the public.
