If you are currently looking for an affordable alternative to gas heating, you could use infrared wall heating. At Aldi, a smaller model will be sold cheaper from today.

Aldi sells small infrared wall heaters for 249 euros

An infrared wall heater only has to be plugged into the socket and produces heat immediately. The popular alternative to gas heating will again be sold cheaper in Aldi’s online shop from October 24, 2022. This time you get the smaller model of the version from Marmony with an output of 500 watts for 249 euros (look at Aldi). There are also shipping costs.

An intelligent wireless thermostat is included in the scope of delivery, which controls the infrared wall heater. When the preset temperature is reached, the heating switches off automatically and starts up again when it gets colder. This keeps power consumption within limits. The Marmony model is slightly more expensive than the very simple infrared wall heaters from Amazon, where a 500-watt model is sold for as little as 140 euros (see Amazon). The marble look of Marmony provides a more elegant look and also stores the heat a little better. But in the end they work equally well.

With a balcony power plant you can generate electricity and use it directly:

For whom is infrared wall heating worthwhile?

Even if gas, oil and district heating have become more expensive, electricity is still much more expensive. Infrared wall heating is therefore only worthwhile as a failsafe for gas or oil heating and for rooms where there is no heating at all and retrofitting would be extremely expensive. Infrared wall heaters are ideal for people with solar systems, who can easily convert their surplus into heat and thus save a lot of money.

Infrared wall heaters are not for you if you have a working gas heater. The costs for heat are significantly higher with infrared wall heating due to the high electricity costs, similar to a fan heater. So think carefully about whether infrared wall heating is really worth it for you.
