After the United Kingdom, Apple will offer Tap to Pay in Brazil

The Tap to Pay system on iPhone debuted this week in the UK and it will soon arrive in Brazil. Apple allows here to transform an iPhone into a payment terminal, which is interesting for merchants.

Select partners of InfinitePay, a Brazilian payment platform, have received early access to Tap to Pay on iPhone. According to an email sent to these partners working with the platform, Tap to Pay is being tested in Brazil with a limited number of users before the official launch.

“The big day has arrived: Tap to Pay on iPhone with InfinitePay is available for trial and we’ve chosen you to get exclusive access now”, noted the email. A video posted on Twitter also shows the system in action. The merchant only needs to enter the transaction amount for the iPhone to accept the payment via NFC.

It is currently unclear when Tap to Pay will actually be available in Brazil. But ongoing testing suggests it will be a reality within weeks.

And France or other countries? No information at this time. Tap to Pay is currently available in the US, Taiwan, Australia and the UK. Also, it is worth remembering that you must have at least an iPhone XS to enjoy it.
