After a decade: the legendary range of cell phones is back
It took more than a decade to make the comeback, but now a new edition of the Motorola Defy is just around the corner. The new model, which has a double-sealed housing, should be waterproof and fall-proof. The cell phone also wants to impress in other areas.
Motorola Defy: New variant as a rugged mobile phone
Motorola, in collaboration with the Bullitt Group, has presented the new Motorola Defy especially for the outdoor area. Just like its predecessor, which came on the market in October 2010, it is a smartphone that is well protected from water and dust. But this is where the similarities stop.
Motorola Defy owns the rugged cell phone a double sealed case and is waterproof according to the IP68 standard. According to the manufacturer, the cell phone can survive 35 minutes in a water depth of up to 1.5 m. A fall from up to 1.8 m is just as unproblematic for the smartphone as extreme temperatures.
For the battery, too, the decision was made to go for an endurance runner that runs on a capacity of 5,000 mAh comes. Motorola speaks of a term that extends over two days. In addition, a triple camera on the back was chosen, which allows pictures with up to 48 MP. The HD + display has a diagonal of 6.5 inches. Inside, the Snapdragon 662 is used, which is supported by 4 GB of RAM. That is comparatively little, Motorola could have gone a little further here.

Motorola Defy outdoor cell phone costs 329 euros
Motorola wants the New edition of the Defy available for 329 euros do. The manufacturer has not yet announced an exact date, but the cell phone should be sold “in the coming weeks”. There is probably not a large selection of colors. On the official website there are at least two models to be found in which at least one has a partially colored pattern.
