LG presents new QNED televisions with mini-LED

Actually, LG’s new TVs should already be released in May or June 2021. With a slight delay, six different models will be launched in the next few weeks. Initially, the devices should be available in North America. An exact date for the start in Europe has not yet been announced, but it shouldn’t be long here either.

According to LG, the highlight of the new models is the mini-LED backlight, which was first shown by the manufacturer at the beginning of the year. This is an LCD technology that does not quite come close to OLED, but still cuts a good figure in practice. Come depending on the model up to 30,000 mini-LEDs with up to 2,500 individual dimming zones for use.

For the largest and best equipped model, LG would like to have 9,999 euros in Germanyif the price stated in February 2021 remains. For this sum there is a television with a diagonal of 86 inches and 8K resolution. If customers can be satisfied with 4K with the same display size, then 6,999 euros is enough. The same amount applies to the 8K model with a diagonal of 75 inches. The cheapest model has a size of 65 inches with a 4K resolution and will probably be sold in Germany for 2,499 euros.
