Insert iPhone SIM card: you need this

To insert or replace the SIM card, you need a SIM card removal tool. This is always included with a new iPhone and is included on the back of the instruction booklet.

If you don’t have these to hand, there are also enough kitchen tools to remove the drawer for the SIM card. For example, use the end of a paper clip, or a thumbtack.

Which SIM card do I need?

The SIM card you receive from your provider has different sizes. Fortunately, you can use the smallest nano SIM card with the iPhone in almost all cases. Apple has opted for nano-SIM from the iPhone 5. Older devices, such as the iPhone 8, up to the latest iPhone 12 (Pro) work with a nano SIM card.

Tip: It is not necessary to turn off your iPhone to insert or replace the SIM card.

Now that the SIM card has been inserted, you can turn the iPhone back on. If the iPhone is still on, a message will appear on your screen that the SIM card is locked.

Then enter the code of your SIM card, after which your iPhone will look for a signal and you can make and receive calls within a few seconds.
