Give your Spotify playlist its own photo
If you’re a Spotify user, you’ve probably created some playlists of your favorite music yourself. The featured images of those lists are designed by Spotify. On the computer, you could already change the images into your own photo, but strangely enough, that was not possible in the apps for Android and iOS.
As of today you can. Spotify makes the new feature available worldwide to all users with a free and paid subscription. Below we explain how to set your own photo.
- Open the Spotify app
- Click on the playlist you want to change the image of
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner
- Select Edit Playlist
- Under the photo, click Edit image
- Select Take photo or Choose photo
At Take photo, your camera app opens so that you can take a photo. At Choose photo you can select an image from your gallery.
- Select a photo and press Use photo
After choosing a photo, you can zoom in with your fingers or move the image a bit.
- Click on Save and you’re done
If you have updated the playlist, you can of course share the result with your friends and family. When you have the playlist in front of you, press the three dots in the top right and swipe down until you see Share. Click on this and choose via which app you want to share the list.
Spotify is also working on more innovations. So you will probably soon be able to play local audio files in Spotify. Here you will find more alleged new Spotify features that should be available this year or early next year.
