Apple Watch: Apple had thought about bracelets connected via a mini Smart Connector
The braceletsApple watch turn out to be really easy to change, but Apple had come up with something even simpler. If we are to believe the cliché of an old prototype of Apple Watch 3 – released by developer Giulio Zompetti, specialist in Apple prototypes – the Cupertino company had thought about bracelets that would be attached directly to the case of the Apple Watch via a kind of mini “Smart Connector”.
Apple might have experimented on some “smart bands” in earlier revisions of Apple Watch S3.
On this prototype unit, two unusual pads are exposed to the band, as a sort of “Smart Connector” we’ve already seen on iPads.#AppleCollection #AppleWatch pic.twitter.com/uVFZHuvuAe

Why Apple did not choose this solution, however attractive a priori? No one knows, but it is possible that the concern is at the point of attachment. Wristbands attached via Smart Connector may have had a greater tendency to come off on their own (that’s a guess).
