The author of Final Fantasy XV made the first Paralympic video game -apkrig

We have already looked at the Olympic Games as a video game presented by Sega and we are preparing a review of it. But now we’re going to focus on the first official Paralympic video game. It was released yesterday and is a free-to-play mobile title from the JP Games studio, which was founded by the main author of Final Fantasy XV, Hajj Tabat, after leaving Squre Enix.

In this unique world, real Paralympians also appear, some of whom have officially sponsored the title.

The official license is called The Pegasus Dream Tour and is available for iOS and Android. The authors set the game in the fictional city of Pegasus City. At the beginning, you create your own avatar with the help of a selfie and with it you then participate in individual sports. Local avatars have prosthetic limbs or can use a wheelchair.

The authors themselves say that this is a whole new online world representing a utopian future. They describe the game as a sports social RPG and it is the very first title from JP Games. In this unique world, real Paralympians also appear, some of whom have officially sponsored the title. The first batch of disciplines is already available and others are expected to increase over time.

The aim of the game is to arouse greater interest in the Paralympics. According to the organizers, the Paralympic Games are currently the third largest sporting event after the Olympics and the World Cup. Hajj Tabata revealed that after leaving Square Enix and founding JP Games, he had a number of tempting offers to create AAA games, but he wanted to try something different and create a title that would somehow benefit society.

In order to bring fresh wind and fresh ideas to the project, Tabata hired new collaborators, including those who had no experience with game development until then, he told SoraNews24. As for why the game has the stylization it has and why it is no longer realistic, Tabata answers relatively simply. He allegedly looked at the videos on the official Paralympic YouTube channel and found that they only have hundreds of views. It was therefore clear to him that it was not enough just to transfer disciplines to the video game and expect people to automatically jump after the title. And the fact is, this more eccentric variation combined with his name can really attract fans more.
