Counter-Strike: Global Offensive 2 – that needs to change
A new Counter-Strike would be a good way for the developer to address some player requests. You have there too exact ideas. We have put together a few for you.
- Take more vigorous action against hackers and cheaters
Many of you wish the same thing: Something must be done about cheaters. In fact, one regularly stumbles upon complaints about hackers and cheaters. Although one reads again and again about ban waves in the game, but these are mostly just a drop in the bucket.
You agree: it must be made impossible for hackers and cheaters, or at least made it much more difficult. One right anti-cheat program was suggested by you, as well as a reasonable hardware ban, which should also really hurt the people concerned.
- Microtransactions should disappear
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a free-to-play game, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play it get rid of money can.
First, there is a Prime Status upgrade (watch now on Steam). For currently 14.19 euros you can purchase this. You will then be thrown into a match with other Prime Status players and receive exclusive items as well as weekly graffiti and weapon crate drops. In order to be able to open these, however, you need a key for each box. You can buy these for 2.25 euros each. You can also spend money on things like stickers, capsules, graffiti and pin sets, and skins (source: Steam).
These microtransactions are a thorn in the side of many of you.
- Back to basics and more possibilities
In addition to the two previously mentioned major wishes and suggestions for improvement, you also have smaller desireswhich would make a CS:GO 2 / CS:GO Source 2 more palatable to you.
- Open access to mods.
- In-game private servers.
- The old weapon sounds should come back.

CS:GO could use an upgrade: what’s to come?
CS:GO 2 or CS:GO Source 2 should be out in March, but what does that even mean? It is not yet known if the rumors are true, nor if it would be a new game or an improved version.
- CS:GO 2 – a completely new game
- CS:GO Source 2 – the well-known Counter-Strike on Valve’s latest engine
According to the latest information on Twitter, there seems to be one clear evidence of modernization measures. On the one hand, a 128-tick server is to be introduced, on the other hand, a completely new matchmaking system is to be introduced.
Published images by Twitter user Gabe Follower show the Source 2 code hidden in thousands of lines of data in a Dota 2 update:
- References to the Zoo map, which was removed from the competitive roster shortly after its debut in 2019.
- References to crates and crate keys – but nobody really thought they would go away with the CS:GO Source 2 update.
- References to a “StickerKit” that some users believe allows players to remove and edit in-game stickers.
- Evidence of a “PaintKit” and a “SprayKit” were also discovered, which may have a similar purpose.
- Reference to “UnusualLoot” which is difficult to define. In Team Fortress 2, ‘Uncommon Loot’ refers to the rarest, sometimes bizarre, cosmetic items.
