Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to be announced earlier than expected

Qualcomm will announce its latest high-end processor in November. At the ‘Snapdragon Tech Summit’ they will launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This is expected to be the high-end chipset that we will see in the 2023 flagships of, among others, Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO and Realme.

Latest high-end chipset

Qualcomm has officially announced the date of the Snapdragon Tech Summit on their own website. The event, where we always get to see the company’s latest high-end processor, will be held from November 15 to 17.

Not much is known about Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor. According to the famous rumor spreader Ice Universe, the new processor will have to be a lot more economical and efficient compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 888. It is also rumored that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would be much faster than the latest upcoming high-end processor from Samsung, the Exynos 2300 chip. As a result, Samsung will even choose not to provide any device in the S23 series with its own Exynos chipset.

New 2023 flagships coming soon

The date on which the Snapdragon Tech Summit will be held is about two weeks earlier than the Snapdragon Tech Summit event of 2021. This could mean that we can expect the new flagships from, for example, OnePlus, Realme and Xiaomi earlier. than last year. Manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Realme were also soon there. About a month after the introduction of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Realme already came with the GT 2 Pro and Xiaomi with the Xiaomi 12 series. Two of the three devices from this series have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. If this trend continues, we could expect new flagships at the beginning of December.
