New iPad Pro 2022 gets the latest gadgets
Apple is likely to release a new iPad Pro in the fall. Full of new gadgets and a new chip!
Last week we were inundated with news from Apple World Wide Developers Conference 2022 (WWDC). New MacBooks, new chips, new OS, new iOS and much more. But that’s news from last week, so new rumors for the near and far future are already circulating!
The well-trained Mark Gurman mentions in the Q&A section of Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter that an upgrade of the iPad Pro is coming. Apple will announce it in September or October 2022.
New chip
Both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be equipped with the next-generation M2 chips that Apple presented at WWDC. That latest chip from our own stable has already found its way to the new MacBook Air and the 13-inch Macbook Pro and now it’s the iPad Pro’s turn in the fall.
Mark Gurman also talks about an upgrade of the camera system, what exactly he expects from that is not entirely clear. An extra lens, new software or an additional camera, it’s all possible. In any case, you can expect a better camera.
wireless charging
Another novelty that we can expect is the support for wireless charging. The MagSafe charging system that we also know from the iPhone is coming to the iPad Pro according to Gurman’s predictions. He also predicted this for 2022 last year, but to get it to work, the design must also be significantly adjusted. The metal housing isn’t ideal for wireless charging, so Mark expects a glass back panel for the 2022 iPad Pro.
A fully glass back makes the tablet much heavier, of course, so a partial replacement is also possible. For example, a glass Apple logo on the back with which you place the iPad Pro on the wireless charger.
To delve even further into the rumors, you may even be able to charge wirelessly in reverse. This means that you can then place your iPhone or AirPods on the back of your iPad Pro and charge it wirelessly with power from your tablet. A larger iPad Pro is also in development, with a 15-inch screen. But whether it will appear this year or next year, that is still the question.
