64 percent of readers don’t want a paid premium Telegram account
Chatapp Telegram has been doing very well lately as a counterpart to WhatsApp and on its own. Paying to access premium features is something most readers don’t like at all. 64 percent say they don’t want to pay for premium features within the app.

It will happen: in the upcoming updates for Telegram, a paid Premium Account will be available. This would give you access to exclusive features, but what those are is still unknown. As Sjoerd states, it is difficult to estimate what you will get for it. The article states: “Unfortunately, it is not yet known which functions will end up in the Telegram Premium Account.” So how can you expect us to estimate how much we would be willing to pay for it?”
He has a point there: of course it is difficult to estimate exactly what you will pay for. If you receive a bar of chocolate every day with a premium account of 3 euros per month, then the author of this article was there like the chickens. But you get stickers for this, and as Michele_possamai states, that’s not very interesting: “I don’t know what other features should be added. Let me see that first. Those stickers are not worth money in any case because I hardly use them anyway. Furthermore, I am not afraid to pay up to 2 euros if the features are worth it.”

Still, you know that if you really use or really appreciate an app, you’re probably more likely to use such a subscription. In any case, 3 percent say they want to spend 2 euros a month on it. 2 percent even say they agree with an amount of 2 to 5 euros per month, while hardly anyone is willing to pay more than 5 euros. Although the specs are not yet clear, 64 says they have no need at all for a Telegram Premium account, while a fairly small 4 percent indicate that they do not know it yet.
Also, many readers do not have Telegram at all: 27 percent give that as an answer. Edo de Roo does not want to spend money if he cannot earn money with it: “It seems to me that “paying for something like this” can be especially interesting for companies, because they can possibly earn back such an investment. I, as a private slob, can only lose money, I don’t earn it.”
Private slob or not: almost all of us prefer not to pay for Telegram, especially if we don’t know what exactly.
