5 event ideas that will save the company party

Social distancing is once again the topic of the hour. “In the next few weeks, stricter corona rules will apply again. And despite the fact that there may not be any classic celebrations again this year, it is all the more important to stick together and look to the future, ”says Sandra Franz, founder and managing director of the Family & Franz event agency. That also means for companies to rethink the Christmas party – because it is usually the company event at which executives celebrate their successes, thank the team for the work they have done and where the outgoing year is duly celebrated together.

In the past two years, many planned events have so far been canceled within a few days, says Franz: “There was initially a vacuum both for the industry and for our customers. What is allowed? What not? How can we come together despite the distance and motivate employees? It quickly became clear to us that if we couldn’t change the situation, we just had to change and adapt to the circumstances, ”explains the Munich resident. She and her team have therefore thought about how digital Christmas parties in particular can be experienced and felt. Five ideas about this:

1. Digital Christmas baking

Baking and snacking in a team with professional support from the bakery. The young bakers get their hands-on kit including an apron, cookie cutters and delicious recipes delivered to their home. For imaginative team members in particular, baking cookies is a great opportunity to let their creativity run free, explains Sandra Franz.

2. Tasting pleasure online

Tastings are a feast for the senses, says Sandra Franz: “Whether it is beer, wine, gin or even chocolate is up to the team alone.” Everything is possible and you don’t just feast with the support of professionals in their respective fields , but also become even smarter – and maybe a little happier, so Franz. Suitable sample boxes are handpicked according to the budget, put together individually and safely delivered to the participants.

In advance, the teams draw a lot of who is allowed to give whom – before it gets down to the nitty-gritty: “All employees are sent craft boxes with all kinds of suggestions and features such as colors or shapes. We do handicrafts together, laugh and guess “, says Sandra Franz.” Virtually together and yet everyone for himself. “Afterwards, the employees send the individual Christmas mail with prepaid letters and parcels. According to Franz, the gifts are unique items from an unforgettable time.

An event with guaranteed fun? “When it comes to karaoke, opinions often differ, and yet there is hardly anything funnier than singing the favorite songs from then and now together in a team,” says Sandra Franz. “The advantage of the digital version: fewer inhibitions. There are no disadvantages, ”she adds. Musical mottos or themes can be defined in advance and supported with suitable karaoke packages. “Whether decoration, costumes, cocktails or snacks, it can also be more than fun remotely.”

5. Dinnertime – Virtual Edition

Some people like it quieter and just want to talk to each other in a team – virtual dinners, delivered by their favorite restaurant or delivery service in the neighborhood, are particularly suitable for this. “In this way, participants can make the evening cozy and also support the local gastronomy,” says Sandra Franz. The same concept also works with cocktails. Quite a few bars also offer drinks away from home or to go in these pandemic times.
