20 x the best outdoor playgrounds in the Netherlands

Prepare well for a day on your way with your child. Bring an extra set of clothes for him, some snacks and maybe your child’s backpack. To make it a successful day, here’s a nice checklist with everything you need.

Please note: some locations also have an indoor playground, but it is not yet accessible due to the corona measures.

Also keep in mind that you often have to book a ticket (with time slot) in advance. Always check the website before departure for the latest developments.

1. Mega fun

The nicest family play park in the Achterhoek. In a rural area you will find an indoor and outdoor area, suitable for children from 0 to 12 years. Outdoor fun consists of a large playground (the largest you can find in the rear corner) with a tractor track, air trampoline, traffic park, shuttle track and various play equipment.

2. Little Switzerland play park

This is more than just an outdoor playground, because you also have a water playground, sensory path and golf course.

3. Playland Beekse Bergen

From swings to trampolines: your child will be entertained all day long. The water attractions (and the huge beach with bathing water) are also worth a visit.

4. Plaswijck Park

Find out whether you look like a monkey in the Monkey Playground or tear through the Traffic Garden at your best: children are never bored here. There are the best playground equipment for young and old, so feel free to bring the whole family.

5. South Quarter Playground

Playground Zuiderkwartier is located next to the center of Leiden and is a very cozy playground. The playground equipment is regularly renewed and expanded, so there is always something surprising to experience.

6. Corn Maze Play Farm

Here everything is focused on life on the farm. Ride on a tractor, ride the go-karts and who knows, you might learn something about farm life.

7. Adventure Park The RollyGolf

Adventure Park De Rollygolf offers 5000 m2 of fun for young and old. You can hit the mini golf course, lose your energy on the trampolines or show how hard you can tear on the track in the minicars.

8. Pavilion Appelbergen

From treasure hunts, treasure hunts to a huge outdoor playground: Paviljoen Appelbergen organizes the best activities especially for children.

9. Linnaeushof

The largest outdoor playground in Europe. The more than three hundred and fifty playground equipment and attractions ensure that your children can clamber and play to their heart’s content: the perfect location for a day out with the family.

10. Old Valkeveen

This play park is located in a wooded nature reserve between Huizen and Naarden and is a paradise for children: there is a large playing field, a theater, a private beach on the Gooimeer and plenty of places for you to enjoy the sun and nature.

11. Sybrandy’s

With more than 40 attractions and play equipment, you can be sure that your child will not be bored here. There are terraces and picnic tables and there is also plenty to do for the little ones.

12. Saint Vitusholt

A playground with colorful equipment that makes you happy. Good to know: there are adapted play equipment for children with a physical disability.

13. Billy Bird

This park has a huge indoor and outdoor playground, a children’s fair, a traffic playground, a roller coaster, rope course, climbing mountain, water attraction and a theater. Parents can enjoy the beach pool with Beach Bar and Party Island.

14. Inner Mesh

Sliding down the slides, swimming, playing in the playground or petting animals at the petting zoo: this recreation resort has it all. 15. The Flierefluiter

It is also nice to spend the whole day here. There are slides, swings, a maze, cable car, trampolines and soccer fields. And there are ponies for children to take a ride on.

16. Western fun

Climbing, sliding, trampoline jumping, swinging or quad biking: children can enjoy themselves for hours in the Westerpret playground in Zoetermeer. There is a separate area for toddlers and a large play bunker. Please note: leave your four-legged friend at home, because dogs are not allowed here.

17. The Land of Jan Klaassen

This outdoor playground is located near Arnhem. Children can take a ride in a gnome train, stroll through a maze with distorting mirrors and feel like real pirates on the pirate boat. Nice: you can sit in the sun on the terrace and you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks.

18. Voorthuizen Play Park

Take a ride on the train, fly a helicopter, jump on trampolines or play with water and sand: it’s all possible in the Voorthuizen play park. From July it is also possible to go on an adventure in the Corn Maze. Can you find the exit? In the middle of the maize you will find a high observation tower with a slide.

19. The Gamernis

An adventurous playground where your child can play with everything from nature. There are trees, bushes, branches, reeds, water and sand to build, tow and move streams yourself. And there is a campfire place and a tipi where your child can make something tasty.

20. Amstelpark playground

This playground is open 365 days a year. You will find the nicest playground equipment there, of course there are nice picnic benches, but you can also just relax on the lawn. Tip: take a tour of the Amstelpark right away – just so much fun.
