Many of us watch our favorite YouTube channels on our smartphones, whether it’s on public transport on the way home from work, in the car, on a break at work, etc. And unless you’re a fan of short content, it’s not uncommon that you didn’t have time to finish your video. And it would be a shame not to finish this exciting video on the Pixel 6 on the Phonandroid channel.

Usually, once you get home, you turn on your PC or Mac and head to YouTube to continue reading. There are not 36 solutions to proceed, you have to take a tour in the history to resume the video where you left it. But that was before. Indeed, YouTube has decided to simplify the operation thanks to the integration of a new functionality.

The web version of YouTube now allows easily continue playing a video you started on your smartphone. If you exit the app with a current video, a mini video player will appear in the lower right corner when you open the web version of YouTube. You will see the title of the video with the mention “Keep watching”.

Start on Android, end your video on the web version of YouTube

This brand new feature was spotted at the start of the week by our colleagues from the 9To5Google site and it seems that Google has already started to deploy it to a limited number of users. Of course, the only condition to take advantage of this feature is to be logged in to the same account on all of your devices, or at least on your PC and smartphone.

Be careful, however, the reverse is not valid. In other words, this feature is not available if you start a video on the Desk version and want to continue it on the Android or iOS app. In this case, you will have to go through your library, then the viewing history. As a reminder, YouTube has recently acquired several new features, such as the ability to download videos to your computer, or even redesigned video chapters.
