Marvel makes it possible to buy a piece of history through NFTs. cool!
The Marvel Entertainment company has announced it is entering the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company and popular comic book maker explains that Marvel fans can purchase “official Marvel NFT digital collectibles, digital comic books and more.”
Buy Marvel history
It’s a logical step for Marvel. NFTs allow them to raise money and serve fans. It helps, of course, that the NFTs have become wildly popular in recent times. The comics and film giant is getting into NFTs according to a press release released recently. The announcement states that Marvel plans to launch digital collectibles, digital comics, and other NFT products.
Comics began in 1939, but Marvel’s entertainment arm was founded in 1998 and is based in New York. The company has 1,786 employees and generates an estimated $366 million in annual revenue. It is therefore a major player in the entertainment market. The company is able to reach even more viewers, especially with online streaming on Disney+.
Cooperation
For the NFT venture, Marvel is partnering with Orbis Blockchain Technologies Limited. This is a company that operates the Veve Digital Collectibles app. The application is available on iOS and Android. The app allows Marvel fans to buy and trade the company’s unique offerings. So you can also buy it as an investment, if you think the token will generate more money in the future.
The press release also states that users of the Veve app can also “hunt for rare (and even secret rare) NFT comic books and collectibles, and showcase their hard-earned collection through fully customizable virtual showrooms.”
More information about the digital collectibles coming to Veve will be revealed in the coming weeks. In any case, Marvel is excited about this new step that the company is taking.
