You should now pay for some contributions
Messenger Telegram is apparently experimenting with paid contributions. The first users are already facing the new payment barrier. Only those who pay get to see the content. Telegram has not yet made an official statement, so far it is only a small test.

Telegram: Messenger tests paywall
Some Telegram users noticed that the operators of the messenger apparently experiment with a paywall. In some Telegram channels it is therefore possible to hide content behind a paywall. Only those who open their wallets can view the post.
In an example that surfaced on Twitter, users have to let a euro jumpto unlock the post. When it comes to the payment method, users can choose from several service providers:
Telegram operators have yet to meet not officially commented on the paywall. This is another reason why it can be assumed that this is only a small test so far. It is unclear if and when it will be expanded. The questions of whether there is a limit to the amount and what proportion Telegram keeps for itself also remain unanswered.
At least with the iOS version of the app Telegram could get in trouble with Apple, if the group’s requirements regarding its own payment system are circumvented. According to Apple, in-app purchases must run through Apple’s system.

Telegram: Paywall also for premium customers?
Telegram could possibly also combine the payment barrier with its own premium offer. Concrete subscription customers could pay less or even nothing at all for paid contributions have to. However, it is also clear that Telegram’s premium offer is still not available in Germany. If that should change, then the monthly price should probably be around 5.50 euros.
