Several consumer advice centers have received a “conspicuous” number of complaints about two electricity providers. It’s about unlawful price increases and ignored special termination rights. Now the Federal Network Agency is being asked to quickly put an end to the hustle and bustle.

Consumer centers: Complaints about electricity providers are increasing

According to the consumer centers in Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate, there has been a sharp increase in complaints about German electricity providers since the beginning of the year. The companies Vox Energy and Prime Stream are mentioned explicitly. The electricity providers are accused of “questionable behavior”. Among other things, they are said to have unlawfully increased contractually agreed prices.

Although both companies have promised their customers a price guarantee, they have increased the monthly installments significantly. If customers then made use of their statutory special right of termination, these terminations were apparently simply ignored. the Consumer centers advise affected customersnot to pay “improperly excessive” claims.

Since these are probably not isolated cases, the consumer centers have turned on the Federal Network Agency. From her becomes a prompt and consistent action is required. The Federal Network Agency is already examining the allegations against Voxenergie and Primastrom (source: Consumer Center Bavaria).

Electricity prices too expensive for low-cost providers

In particular, the cheapest electricity providers who have fixed-term contracts with their customers come under increasing pressure. The prices on the international energy markets have risen sharply in recent months, so that you sometimes have to pay more yourself. Some providers have stopped deliveries because of this, customers have to go back to basic services. As a new customer, you will also be asked to pay a lot here.
