You can now share NFTs on Instagram

Non-fungible tokens: do you have them? They are like digital works of art for which you have proof of ownership, all of which is recorded in the blockchain. It was the buzzword of 2021, but in 2022 it became a bit quieter around NFTs. Can Instagram change that? You can now share NFTs there.

NFTs

NFTs are a kind of proof of ownership of digital objects. For example, someone has an NFT of the first tweet ever posted, and there are also entire clubs with NFT monkeys that people like to buy – and for a lot of money. However, they certainly don’t always have to be expensive, these digital objects. For example, there are also free copies.

Meta’s social media previously announced that you could share NFTs, but now the feature has actually arrived in the app. You can share NFTs on your profile by clicking on the top right and going to the menu. You’ll see a “Digital Collectibles” option there, and then Instagram walks you through how to get your NFTs on your profile. You can choose between different wallets, such as Coinbase, Dapper and MetaMask.

You can then tap the NFTs in your wallet and choose which ones will appear on your profile. You can also add a tag when selecting to give the creator of the NFT attention, but you have to do that before your post: afterwards it doesn’t seem to work very well, writes YDT. Once you’ve shared it, you’ll see a notification with your post (it looks just like a regular post) with ‘verfied NFT’. A new tab has also appeared on your profile that shows all your NFTs that you have shared on Instagram.

In the screenshots below you can see what it looks like on a profile when you post NFTs.
