Xiaomi charges your phone in 8 minutes with new fast charging technology

Xiaomi shows its 200 watt fast charging technology that can fully charge a phone in a few minutes. A smartphone reaches the full 100 percent in 8 minutes, we see that in a video. It is not known when we can welcome this technology in a smartphone

Xiaomi 200 watts fast charging

Xiaomi shows that it has mastered a new lightning-fast fast charging technique. In a video, it fully charges a phone with a 4000 mAh battery in 8 minutes. Charging itself is done at a high power of 200 watts, and Xiaomi has rebranded the technology as ‘HyperCharge’.

For the video, Xiaomi says it uses a modified version of its Mi 11 Pro flagship with a smaller battery. The new technology is even more powerful than Xiaomi’s 120-watt charger that appeared with the Mi 10 Ultra, a top device that only reached the Chinese market. This allowed the company to fully charge the phone in 23 minutes, and it was then a larger 4500 mAh battery. The Mi 11 Pro comes standard with a 67 watt charger.

Even when it comes to wireless charging, Xiaomi knows how to achieve strong performance. The company can charge your phone in 15 minutes with a 120-watt technology, although wireless charging is still less efficient than the wired way. Much more energy is lost to heat.

In recent years, Xiaomi has increased the pressure on its Chinese competitor OPPO, which for many years was the leader in fast charging with its Super VOOC technology. The two companies seem to be increasingly fighting it out on the charger. Although it remains to be seen which of the two companies will be the first to launch a phone with a 120-watt or 200-watt charger in the Netherlands.
