would you buy a used or refurbished phone?
Smartphones last much longer compared to ten years ago. Old telephones are often not really written off. Would you buy second-hand or refurbished models? We ask you this week in our AW Poll.
Refurbished or second-hand?
We agree that phones can last quite a long time today. Not only has the hardware matured, but some manufacturers are also making efforts to support their devices for longer. It is therefore likely that it will become more interesting for consumers to look at the market for cheaper second-hand and refurbished telephones.
The advantage of refurbished smartphones compared to second-hand ones is that the operation of devices is tested first. Stores replace defective parts and they clearly describe the condition of their phones. After purchase you are entitled to a warranty, just like with a new smartphone, and there is also a cooling-off period of at least two weeks.
When you buy second-hand on the private market you can sometimes make even cheaper bargains, but there are also more risks, as we also explain here. In addition, the number of cases of internet fraud has increased significantly in the past year and that is one of the most important things to be wary of on second-hand sites such as Marktplaats.

In this AW Poll we would like to ask you explicitly whether you at least take second-hand or refurbished devices into account when purchasing your next phone. Let us know in the poll and clarify your thoughts in the comments at the bottom of this article.
