Depending on the region, a different processor can be found in the Galaxy S22 Ultra from Samsung. This is noticeable in the photo and video capability of the top smartphone. This results in disadvantages for German customers – but there are also advantages.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Europe variant with worse photo values

The test by the experts from DxOMark resulted in the Galaxy S22 Ultra from Samsung slightly different resultsrelated to the processor. While Samsung uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in some regions, the Exynos 2200 is used as an alternative in Europe.

At least that doesn’t change anything about the overall rating: Both variants get a score of 131, what in the DxOMark ranking means only 14th place. So it wasn’t enough for an absolute top position.

When looking at the details, however, it becomes clear that the Choice of processor has an impact on photo and video values. The Snapdragon variant of the phone scores 136 points for photos, while the Exynos version has to make do with 134 points. More image noise and a slight loss of detail are noticeable with high digital enlargement.

With videos, on the other hand the Exynos 2200 does a little better with 114 points compared to 111 points. The experts also rate the zoom capability of the Exynos version as somewhat stronger, but this also only becomes clear with strong cropping. At high magnification, Samsung’s in-house Exynos processor offers a slightly clearer image (source: DxOMark).

Regardless of the processor, both variants come with the Exactly the same camera equipment for use. In addition to two telephoto lenses and an ultra wide angle, there is a 108 MP main camera. The marginal differences in the rating are noticeable on paper, but in practice they don’t result in a clearly noticeably better or worse performance.
