World Cup 2022: Canal subscribers deprived of matches?

Since September, users of TNT Sat and TV by Canal can no longer watch TF1, but also TMC, TFX or LCI. The channels of the TF1 group are in fact excluded from all Canal+ offers which normally allow you to enjoy free DTT channels. This is a story of big money between audiovisual groups. According to Canal+, TF1 asked for too much money to be broadcast through its broadcast channels. Of course on the other side, we think that the TF1 channels are not valued enough. The same story happened in 2018, but it was resolved with a little help from the authorities. This time, the divorce seems to be consummated between the two parties. Rejected for the first time, TF1 has just lost on appeal. Justice has just decided: the Canal group does not have to restore the broadcasting of the channels of the TF1 group.

Black screen for the World Cup?

This is very annoying for people who only receive television through Canal+ offers such as TV by Canal or users of TNT Sat, a free DTT satellite offer owned by Canal+. Even if you think that we can very well do without the rebroadcast of episode 3256 of Joséphine Ange Gardien, this is certainly not the opinion of the supporters of the French football team. The first channel is in fact the broadcaster of the competition with beIN Sports. Admittedly, there are other means of accessing TF1: the website, theMYTF1 app to install on your smart TV or tablet, “normal” DTT via a rake antenna, or directly via your box. But people who have a very bad Internet and who only have satellite to watch TV are in trouble. For those, there remains a solution since Globecast, a transponder belonging to Orange, will broadcast TF1 channels on the Astra satellite via boxes compatible with TNT Sat. Currently in the test phase, these broadcasts are happening on channels 1748, 1749, 1750, 1751 and 1752. Just do a new search for channels to display them.

Be careful, it seems that it does not yet work for everyone.
