Crossfire X: the multi FPS will stop on May 18, including the single player mode!

It’s unheard of: in just a few weeks, nearly a dozen massively multiplayer games have gone by the wayside! For Apex Legends Mobile, Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero’s Bonds, Echo VR, Knockout City and a few more, the adventure will end in 2023. Even more worrying for the JV industry as a whole, server shutdowns most often occur just a few quarters after the game’s launch. The killing game continues with studio announcement Smilegate : Crossfire Xthe exclusive FPS (console) of the Xbox Series, will no longer be playable after May 18, even though the game was released in February 2022!

The Crossfire X servers will therefore be shut down on May 18, a decision that also concerns the single-player game developed by RemedyEntertainment (the developers of Alan Wake, Max Payne and Control). But why the hell should the server downtime affect single player? This is likely to generate a hell of a lot hash storm on social networks, although it must be remembered that the game had been rather poorly received by players and the specialized media. Smilegate gives no explanation for the stoppage of the game, but one can easily assume that the servers were far from full.
