Withdrawing money with your smartphone explained in 9 steps

A bank card is also so old-fashioned. You can even withdraw money with your smartphone these days.

It is now the most natural thing in the world to complete a payment with your smartphone or smartwatch. But the wallet is not yet able to stay at home completely. Certainly not if you want to withdraw cash, for example. Do you still need that bank card? Or not? You can now also withdraw money with your smartphone. We explain how it works.

Firstly, you must be an ABN AMRO customer. In the future, this option will undoubtedly also be offered through other banks. Another requirement is that you must be at a Geldmaat ATM. The latter is not so difficult. Many ATMs have already been converted into a Geldmaat. The possibility to withdraw money with your smartphone is due to a collaboration between ABN Amro, Geldmaat and Mastercard. As a customer, make sure that you have installed the ABN Amro app on your smartphone and you can get started.

  1. At the Geldmaat, choose ‘Without debit card’ to withdraw money without your debit card
  2. Then press Without debit card at the next screen
  3. A QR code will appear. Scan this with your smartphone
  4. Then click Continue on your smartphone
  5. Log in with your ID code, facial recognition or fingerprint
  6. Choose the bank account you want to withdraw money from
  7. Enter the desired amount
  8. Log in again with your ID code
  9. Finished! The money comes out of the machine
