With this crypto you can pay on Earth, the moon, Mars and beyond

Handy nonetheless. You can pay with this specially designed crypto on Earth, but also on the moon, Mars and so on.

LedgerX co-founder Paul Chou is building on the sale of the company he founded by raising capital for a new kind of cryptocurrency that can be spent on all kinds of planets.

Crypto for on Earth, the Moon, Mars etc

Chou has been concerned for some time about the far-reaching regulations and government involvement in general. That is where his ambition comes from: a back-up plan. For entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson, that backup plan is increasingly in space, where Musk, the billionaire founder of SpaceX, hopes to have tens of thousands of people by 2040.

But Chou is concerned that the work of these billionaires runs a very serious risk of importing the same prejudices that settlers have carried with them for millennia. To undermine the old aphorism that trade follows the flag, he raises capital from a syndicate of MIT grads to build his next project. He calls this Foundation Coin. A new category of digital assets that does not depend on a government like Bitcoin.

To build

The aim is therefore to be completely independent. Unlike Bitcoin, Foundation is designed from the ground up to handle transactions on every planet (or moon) in the solar system. When the first bodega, brothel or bank opens on the moon or Mars – or any other planet around the sun – it will have a new kind of money, with no colonial baggage, ready and waiting.

“Mars is a unique, undescribed starting point where we can try something from scratch,” Chou says. “So we have to treat it as such, and then reap all the benefits and use that speed that is necessary for those intrepid people who are going there to move as quickly as possible. And we just need a financial bridge to do it.” Check! Good that someone is thinking about it.
