The puzzle around the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is coming together more and more. Compared to its predecessors, Samsung’s latest folding cell phone is said to have a small but crucial difference. Oppo’s foldable smartphone could serve as a model.

After Samsung officially buried the Galaxy Note series, the second half of the year is now all about folding cell phones. At the beginning of August, the South Korean manufacturer should drop the covers and make the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 official. With the former, Samsung apparently listens to the critics and changes the screen ratio.

That’s how it’s supposed to be Cover display is slightly smaller on the outside, but wider will. The difference looks minimal on the comparison pictures from Insider Ice Universe, but it should still ensure that the foldable cell phone is more convenient to use when it is closed.

It should have a similar effect with internal folding display, which should also be a little shorter but wider (see picture in tweet). Multitasking with two apps open side by side could particularly benefit from the slightly wider screen.

If the information is true, Samsung would at least move a bit in the direction of the Oppo Find N with the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The folding cell phone from the Chinese manufacturer has smaller, but wider displays inside and out – and was particularly well received by the testers.

Samsung’s current folding cell phones are not yet old-fashioned:

Flagship camera and full performance in Samsung’s folding phone

Aside from the possible changes in the image format, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 should get a real flagship camera and the telephoto lens of the Galaxy S22. At the performance theme potential buyers of Samsung smartphones need to know do not worry. Only the much-requested slot for the S Pen will probably remain a dream in this generation of folding cell phones.
