1. Make sure your battery lasts

During the holidays it often gets late in the evening and there is nothing more annoying than an empty phone. After all, how are you supposed to take the annual Christmas photos when your iPhone is empty? There are a number of tips with which you can make your battery last longer. The easiest way is to turn on power saving, but there are more ways to save battery.

For example, it is possible to disable apps that refresh in the background. If you don’t close apps, they will continue to update in the background. The apps collect data and that takes up a lot of battery, especially if you have multiple apps open. In settings you can easily choose which apps do and do not update in the background.

You do this by going to ‘General’ under ‘Settings’. Here you choose ‘Refresh in background’, there you can then choose which apps refresh in the background. You also have the option to completely disable ‘Background refresh’, then you turn off the function for all apps at once. This way you can use your battery a little longer!

2. Done with the hustle and bustle? This is how you set up your AirPods Pro

Are you tired of all the hustle and bustle around the holidays? Or do you want to listen to all the Christmas classics in peace? Then the AirPods Pro (2) with noise reduction offer the perfect solution. With the personalized controls of the AirPods Pro, you can quickly switch between transparency and noise reduction.

Did you know that you can adjust the operation of your AirPods Pro to your own preferences in settings? You do this in the following way:

  1. Go to Settings’;
  2. Choose ‘Bluetooth’;
  3. Tap the information button next to the AirPods Pro;
  4. Set up your AirPods Pro the way you want.

The settings of the AirPods Pro can be personalized in various ways. The operation can be adjusted, for example it is possible to set that you operate noise reduction with your left AirPod and operate Siri with your right AirPod. In addition, you can set that you stop a telephone call by pressing the stalk once.

Also important: in the settings of your AirPods Pro you will find the function ‘Find my network’. By enabling this feature, you’ll see your AirPods individually on the map in the Find My app. Very handy if you lost your AirPods at the Christmas party.

3. This way your Christmas photos have the best quality

Do you want to capture the Christmas dinner as sharply as possible? Or take the annual family photos with the best quality? The iPhone 14 Pro has a brand new 48-megapixel main camera. That is four times more pixels than before, but these pixels are combined by default. As a result, you still end up with a 12-megapixel image. That could be better, and this is how:

  1. On your iPhone, go to ‘Settings>Camera>File formats’ and turn on the switch under ‘ProRAW’.
  2. In the same menu, make sure the ProRAW resolution is set to ’48 MP’.
  3. Open the Camera app and tap the newly appeared RAW button.
  4. Make sure you’ve selected the 1x lens and shoot your first 48-megapixel photo!

Photos that you shoot in the 48-megapixel mode do have a considerable size. This can be up to 100 megabytes per photo. So use the function in moderation!
