Microsoft has adopted the Windows taskbar and, at least in the developer version, has integrated a function that can be used to improve loading times and performance. After a restart or a new login, the performance boost becomes noticeable.

Microsoft improves Windows 11 taskbar

In the past few weeks, Microsoft has Developer version of Windows 11 put the focus on the taskbar and optimized it in some places. As it turns out, the group is currently testing another improvement, which is currently still hidden. After the update to Windows 11 Build 25182 (Dev), users can activate the function manually, as an insider revealed. At a later date, Microsoft should unlock the function for all users.

Once activated, one results noticeable increase in performance on the taskbar. It loads faster than before, which is particularly noticeable when logging into the system or after a restart. Pinned icons are ready faster and animations run smoother (source: PhantomOcean3 on Twitter).

Since Microsoft is still working on the feature, there may still be minor problems here and there. The performance boost is currently in place only for the main monitor taskbar to disposal. When it is released later, the improved loading time and performance will probably be reflected in all taskbars.
