Microsoft misses Xbox Game Pass long-awaited next-gen update

Apparently the men from Redmond keep their word and continue to work hard on the server structure of the in-house game streaming offer. Find out from us which innovations await you in the future.

Microsoft is bringing next-gen hardware into the server house

As Microsoft already assured on June 10th, the hardware upgrade of the data centers for Xbox Cloud Gaming is in the final sprint. In plain language this means: The previous Xbox One S-based structure now has finally obsolete and clears the space for the latest next-gen hardware in the form of the Xbox Series X.

Now this measure seems to be delivering the first practical results. Many games like Gears 5, The Elders Scrolls Online or Minecraft Dungeons have already received an update.

In addition to improved optics and up to 120 frames per second, one advantage comes into its own: Significantly shorter loading times let you jump into your favorite game much faster.

xCloud: Microsoft’s cloud gaming promises even more

An official statement from Microsoft has not yet been made, but further plans for the game streaming service are already on the horizon. So should the Last-Gen strong benefit from the xCloud service.

The plan: In the future, owners of older Xbox consoles will have the option of streaming next-gen games to their consoles as part of the Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft is bridging the gap and is getting there older hardware too at this point on board. So-called cloud natives, i.e. games that you will only have access to via the cloud, are also an issue.

The plan also includes a new dashboard feature. This innovation will ensure that you can jump into a game before actually downloading it to try outbefore you decide to download it.
