Windows 10: the taskbar will have a weather / news widget
The Windows 10 taskbar will experience its first significant change with the arrival of a weather and news widget. It’s available for testing today for Windows Insider members.
As the watch in the image above, the weather and news widget appears to the right of the Windows 10 taskbar. Local weather is displayed directly on the taskbar for preview. Clicking on it allows you to have more information, as well as the list of news. Microsoft specifies that each user can personalize the content that is displayed.
Microsoft explains that the weather / news widget in the Windows 10 taskbar displays the latest information. It can be important news, local news and more. Microsoft relies on 4,500 media / sites around the world to identify content. Each click on an article opens Microsoft Edge for reading.
The idea is for the widget to get to know you. You will be able to click on “Show more articles like this” if you like something. Conversely, a “Less articles like this” option will be available.
The Windows 10 weather and news taskbar widget is nice, but what if you don’t want it? Microsoft says it will be possible to disable it.
As is, the feature is available for testing in the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and India. It should arrive in France and elsewhere once it is available to everyone.
