Why I would buy exactly this smartphone

With the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus and S22 Ultra, Samsung has introduced three new high-end smartphones. While in the last generation the Plus model was the bad choice in my opinion, the tide has completely changed this year. Suddenly the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is the best option. And for good reason.

Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus or S22 Ultra?

Samsung launches new S-class smartphones every year and I always ask myself which of the models I would be most likely to buy. In 2021 it would be the Galaxy S21 (to test). It’s light, small, offers high performance, good battery life and a great camera. But this year that has changed Galaxy S22 somehow developed a direction that I can’t understand. You have to accept big cuts in the display, battery life and technical equipment.

And somehow I don’t understand the alignment at the top either. Anyone who wants the absolute best smartphone from Samsung right now needs to buy a Note. There is no real successor to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. instead has Samsung basically built a Galaxy S22 Note. Where is the pure high-end smartphone without a pen? I don’t need a pen. I noticed that after buying the Galaxy Note 9 at the latest. I would have found a real Galaxy S22 Ultra without the stylus and with the design of the other S22 phones much better. And whether there are three or four versions of the Galaxy S22 would not have bothered anyone. At some point the Galaxy S22 FE will come anyway.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is my choice

And that’s exactly why the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus would be my choice. It’s gotten a bit smaller compared to the Galaxy S21 Plus, which I think is a big plus. It has a display that has a higher brightness. A maximum of 1,750 nits is possible, while the Galaxy S22 “only” achieves 1,300 nits. This is on the level of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, even if the resolution is lower. The smartphone can be charged with a maximum of 45 watts, the Galaxy S22 can only be charged with a maximum of 25 watts. And you are more future-proof with support for UWB and Wifi 6E. We explain the differences to you in the video at the top.

And then of course there are the general improvements, but they affect both the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Plus. They feel more valuable again. The glass back makes a huge difference. I’ve held the Galaxy S22 Plus in my hands for the first time and I’m really excited. Finally a premium smartphone again. The plastic back was okay, but you would expect a little more in this price segment.

But there is a big catch

As much as I like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, I wouldn’t jump at it right away. the Price from 1,049 euros is too high. However, the price analysis has shown that the price will fall sharply in the foreseeable future. As soon as we move to around 800 euros, the price would be acceptable in my opinion. In a few months at the latest, however, it will certainly be even cheaper.
