With the elegant ProDisplay XDR, Apple has shown that monitors don’t necessarily have to be boring boxes. Huawei is now going in a similar direction with the recently introduced MateView.

The brightness is with 500 nits not outstanding, but at least it is enough for the lowest HDR level of the VESA (DisplayHDR 400). The contrast gives Huawei 1,200: 1 on, the update rate is 60 Hz. The 3: 2 format should show its strengths in professional use. Height and side adjustable is the monitor on top of that.

Also part of the party, like that Notebookcheck, are a range of connection options. This includes a Mini display port, HDMI port and USB-C slots. Two stereo speakers (2 x 5 watts) provide the sound and through the integrated NFC chip in the base Documents can be transferred from a compatible Huawei smartphone if the user briefly taps the monitor with the mobile phone.

Is Huawei bringing the MateView to Germany?
