WhatsApp will support multiple devices at once. But it has a catch
Facebook recently confirmed that the WhatsApp chat application will support multiple devices at once. In an interview with the founder of the WABetaInfo portal, she stated that she plans to introduce the novelty in the next two months and is now officially releasing the first beta version of the feature.
The feature allows users to use one account on up to 4 devices at once, without the others being connected to the Internet. In addition to chat, voice and video calls will work on all connected devices.
WhatsApp will support multiple devices at once, so far only on selected platforms
However, in the first beta version of the news, it is only possible to pair your smartphone with WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp Desktop and Facebook Portal. This means you can’t pair multiple smartphones at once, whether it’s Android or iOS devices. Probably only a temporary solution and later versions of the feature should also add the ability to pair multiple smartphones.
Because this is a beta, the feature may have stability issues and may contain bugs. A stable version is expected to be available in late summer.
WhatsApp will also allow you to transfer chat history between Android and iOS devices in the future, the only condition being that you have the latest version of the app installed on both smartphones.
