WhatsApp will soon block your screenshots (and come with more functions)

With WhatsApp’s ‘one-time view’ feature, a photo disappears after the recipient opens it. However, your photos are not completely safe, because someone can save the image by taking a screenshot of it. A new feature in WhatsApp should counteract this.

WhatsApp: Block screenshots during one-time view

The popular messaging service WhatsApp comes with three major privacy functions, Mark Zuckenberg announces via Facebook. So the first is the prevention of screenshots during photos sent via ‘one-time view’. This way, your sensitive snaps are a little safer.

Something, because someone can of course still capture your spicy photo by using a second smartphone or camera. So it is important to be careful when using this feature. It remains possible for the recipient to capture the photo, although WhatsApp makes it a bit more difficult.

Quietly leave WhatsApp group

Now everyone in the chat will be notified when you leave the group. This changes: only group managers will see a notification that you have left. This is not immediately visible to the other members in the group.

WhatsApp thus lowers the threshold for leaving a group. The feature is coming soon, so don’t hesitate to leave your in-laws’ group or neighborhood app.

Not visible that you are online

What will also be quietly possible in the future is being online on WhatsApp. Now it’s visible to everyone when you’re online, but with a new option it will soon be preventable.

In the settings of WhatsApp you can set that everyone can see that you are online, no one, your contacts or specific contacts.
